District 6 Newsletter 1/17/24

Dear ,

I hope you are all enjoying this snow, and otherwise staying warm! Please join me in thanking all our city personnel who have been working around the clock to clear our roads, respond to emergencies, and care for those without shelter.

I’m reaching out quickly with two changes/additions to the calendar:

Shelby Commons aka Naval Building meeting postponed

Due to the weather, and school closures, tomorrow’s community meeting about Shelby Commons is postponed. The rescheduled date is:

Thursday, February 1, from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm, at the Kirkpatrick Community Center.

See you there!

East Bank Town Hall on 1/31

The East Bank is an important issue citywide, but as we all know, it will affect us in District 6 in particular—along with our neighboring district across Gallatin, District 5. That is why District 5 CM Sean Parker (who is also Chair of the Council’s East Bank Committee) and I are getting together soon to hold a joint town hall, in East, about the East Bank. We are eager to hear from all D6 and D5 residents, to share with you everything we know so far (though on some questions the answer might be “We don’t know yet!”), and otherwise discuss what we are working on and how we are approaching all the major issues. So please join us, bring questions, and bring your friends!

Districts 5 and 6 East Bank town hall with Sean and Clay:

Wednesday, January 31st , 6:30-8pm, Warner Elementary School Auditorium

Hope to see you soon. Yours in service, Clay
