#4 Bus Will be FREE on Saturday for the Festival

Again this year I am so glad to sponsor the #4 Bus to be FREE all day on Saturday! This will apply to the entire #4 route all over the city, all day long, so I hope this will help as you make plans for our very own home-grown holiday. And, tell your friends and family coming in from elsewhere, so they can beat the traffic and not have to hassle with parking! The more the merrier!

2026 Legislative Champion of the Year

It was especially meaningful last month to be named the 2026 Legislative Champion of the Year by the United Way’s network of early childhood educators, for the legislation I recently sponsored and passed to help make child care more available and more affordable in our city. There is no more important work than nurturing and educating children, and it’s work our local government can and should support!

Metro Public Health Mobile Clinic, in District 6

The Metro Public Health Department is working to get its personnel and services out into the community, all around town. On September 1, from 10-3, they’ll be set up outside the Kirkpatrick Community Center, available for many services and consultations. Please see graphic below for details and spread the word!

Shelby Ave Arboretum Volunteer Day

On Saturday, September 26th, The Nashville Tree Conservation Corps is hosting a volunteer day to maintain and beautify the trees along Shelby Avenue, also known as the Shelby Ave Arboretum! It will be fun, and the benefits will last for decades. I’ll look forward to seeing you there. Please see details below.

(Note this event is separate from the Annual District 6 Tree Planting Day! That will still be happening so please stay tuned for details. Pencil in Nov 14 for that one :)

Election Day is Tomorrow!

Tomorrow, August 6, is election day — it’s the general election for many of our countywide offices, and it’s the primary for state and federal elections that will be up for general election in November. If you vote on election day, you vote at your regular precinct. This one is extremely important, and turnout in the early vote has been strong, so if you vote on election day, please make a plan for tomorrow, and vote! Polls will be open from 7-7.
